In recalling the figure of Antonio Pala, I can not go back in time and remember when, still little more than a child, I saw the open door of the cellar Tiu Pala (Anthony's father Pala) and I slipped it inside. Between the barrels and in the corners of the cellar, cercavo le piccole sculture realizzate in tufo bianco e le ammiravo con orgoglio, perché erano state realizzate da Tiu Palieddu. Tutti sapevano che Palieddu era andato via dal paese per inseguire la sua passione. Era l’unico della sua famiglia che aveva avuto la possibilità di frequentare delle scuole. It was not easy in those days but, evidently, avevano capito che sostenerlo negli studi artistici fosse uno sforzo necessario. Tutti sapevano che Palieddu era un artista, tanto da considerare questo come un evento che ci rendeva davvero orgogliosi. Oggi che mi trovo in veste di primo cittadino a commemorare il maestro d’arte Antonio Pala, posso affermare che l’Amministrazione da me presieduta è onorata di poter contribuire alla nascita di questo volume che, We're not sure, concorrerà con prestigio a tener vivo il ricordo artistico del nostro illustre concittadino.
